Grand Opening

It’s just gone midnight and that can only mean one thing… I’ve been hard at work slaving away to get this webcomic up and running and the Deadly Alien Microbots have finally arrived.

I hope you enjoy this little treasure of weirdness in the far flung reaches of the interweb. It’s been a long time coming and even now I’m only at the beginning of what is becoming quite a journey.

Feel free to comment, though please be nice. And given the novelty of this site, there’s bound to be the odd upset and occasional changes as I make the odd tweak here and there. If something is broken that I haven’t spotted yet then send an email and I’ll do my best to fix it.

Any questions? No? Good…

Enjoy!

Tweaks

I’ve made a few tiny tweaks and fixes to the website and got the rss feed hooked up to feedburner now. I also uploaded more pages for your reading pleasure. Another page this Sunday and maybe Monday, and from then onwards it’ll be 2 pages a week.

Regularity

I’ve finally settled on the dates for new comic pages after realising that it was getting too long in between posts. So from now on it’s going to be MONDAYS and THURSDAYS.
I plan on moving to 3 posts a week at some point, but until I’m drawing that many pages it’s going to stay at a measly 2! On the plus side, there’s currently a backlog of 30 pages and I’ve started drawing chapter 2…

Yummy spam

With one chapter over, it would be lovely to have some comments, good and bad (though, please be good!). Though, I do find the subject matter of some of the obviously spam comments quite amusing.

BEGIN RANT

Apparently one of my pages struck a chord with someone and would I like to look at his body building site that sells body building pills or whatever. Hmmm… Maybe those tablets contain nano-machines which upon ingestion turn you into a superhuman. Ah, yes! Now I see the relevance. Well, it’s a shame I deleted that comment as we could have had a world populated by superheroes otherwise.

END RANT

Genuine comments are, of course, most welcome.

Oh, and I’ve finally got around to adding quick titles to all the old pages in Chapter 1 to hopefully make it better to navigate.

Updates!

I’ve updated a few pages on the website:

  • Cast pages are now up-to-date with new additions to make way for chapter two’s arrival.
  • The ‘about’ page now has a section about me, just in case you were mildly curious.
  • I’ve renamed the archives page to episodes, since this isn’t an old dusty library.
  • Added a fancy favicon for your browser (possibly the most important update!!)

Tweaks

I’ve tweaked the site a little so that now you can select any page from the little drop down list below the comic. It also tells you the chapter name in the title for the comic description.

Other than that, I’ll probably be unable to update any more than the title page for Chapter 2 this week due to moving to a new country, but I’ll do my best…

Virus woes

I seem to have a virus or trojan, or some such monstrosity, that has decided to set up home on my website. Working my way to resolve the problem, but until then there’ll be no more posts…

Site back up… almost

After a few days of hassles I think the site is clean. There are a few issues with some scripts not running and I can’t guarantee all the pages are all there, so it may be a couple more days before we’re back on fighting form again.

DAM is now on sale! For Charity!

Great news! You can buy a print version of chapter 1 of DAM (including the Blood and Gorebot short) for $2.99 over at IndyPlanet.

Check it out here

What’s even better is that for the first issue any profits I make I’m going to donate to a Leukemia charity (it comes to just over a US dollar for charity per copy), so there’s even more incentive for you to buy. If this works out then I’ll probably do something similar for later issues. It would be nice to raise a nice amount of money.

Here’s a picture of the front cover to get you all excited.

Housekeeping

The more observant among my readers will probably notice a few subtle changes taking place around the site. I’ve added some advertising banners, that hopefully do the job but at the same time remain unobtrusive, and tidied up a lot of the redundant links.

From now on I intend to do a lot more regular changes to the site to keep it clean and fresh. I always had a cool vision for the look and feel of the site but after I set it up initially I never did any more to it other than updating the comic, so it’s time to keep my promise and hopefully improve it. This may involve a lot of experimentation but that’s part of the fun of having my own website!

Coming soon…
